These high-build elastomeric systems are made up of multiple layers of acrylic coatings combined with a special high-strength reinforcing fabric.

The products that we use are "elastomeric" - that is, they keep their elasticity at temperatures low enough to make other materials brittle. They offer an outstanding balance of performance and environmental features that make them ideal for use on historic structures of all kinds. What's more, Elastomeric coatings are available in a wide variety of colors.

We can all agree that flat roofs take the most abuse of any roofs. During the winter snow sits for months on the roof, and then as the temperatures warm a bit it experiences the freeze and thaw process. Then comes the other extreme, hot summer heat. These are extreme conditions for a roof!

A flat roof must be strong and yet at the sametime able to stretch whichout cracking or breaking. This is where Elastomeric multi coat roof systems come in. We have found that over many years they maintain their Elastic qualities. Even in temperatures as low as 30 degrees below zero they remain flexible.

The area where most Flat roofs fail is at the seems. This is where an Elastomeric roof system is unique. They are seamless. How it works is that we first apply a coat of Elastomeric coating and while it is still wet we imbed a layer of fabric mesh and then a saturation coat. We then Follow the same procedure in an adjoining area and overlap the first area. We follow this process over the entire roof area. We Finnish the roof with two coats of Elastomeric coating.

This system is made to extend the life expectancy indefinitely of the roof. It can be applied over top of many preexisting roofs such as: Asphalt, metal, rubber, rolled, modified, bitumen, EPDM, built-up, TPO, PVC, BUR, Hypalon, hot tar, Polyureuthane foam. At the same time where necesary we can change the contour and pitch of the roof so as to promote better drainage and avoid pooling of water.

Another point of importance is the ability to take abrasion. We know that many flats roofs recieve foot traffic. With an elastomeric roof system this is not a problem. We have seen many roofs that our customers have used them as sitting areas without any problems.

In recent years we hear alot about white roofs or cool roofs. These are so popular since they keep the building much cooler. Elastomeric roofs are available in white.. This can drasticly reduce your cooling costs. The elastomeric white coat is highly reflective. So instead of absorbing the heat it reflects it.

The most important point for all of us is that a roof system makes economic sense. And this very true for an elastomeric roof system. This is because this system can be extended for many more years of use by a simple RECOAT. This requires minimal preparation.
